Vicky Kaushal is the new heartthrob in the tinsel town with Uri performing a smashing spree across the theatres. The new age actor has achieved success in the quickest time giving tough competition to the newbies.

The power pact performance of Vicky Kaushal has kept the audience still going to watch Uri: the surgical strike. After one month of its release the film stands with a box office collection of 202.52 crores in domestic theatres. Overseas, the Aditya Dhar directorial grossed a good 43 crores until Friday, February 8. This is a big number for any debutant director.

“No matter how much gratitude I have towards our Army, it will always be less. During the shooting and promotion of the film, I got the privilege of meeting our Army men every other day. They made me realise the real value of hard work. Their honesty, hard work and sacrifices inspired me to put my best into the film,”Vicky Kaushal said.

On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: the queen of Jhansi which is made on a hefty budget, has crossed the 100crore mark with its domestic and overseas collection after two weeks of its release.

While it managed a gross of 99.76 crores in India, the overseas collection stands at 23 crores. Total the movie has grossed 122.76 crores. With one more week in hand before Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy releases the film is expected to cross the 100crore mark in domestic box office.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar’s so called debutant film ‘The Fakir of Venice’ which released after a decade, opened poorly at the box office. Also starring Annu Kapoor, the film might have had made good numbers if released at the correct time.
