In order to avoid clash at the box office, makers of Emraan Hashmi starrer Cheat India announced a new release date on Friday.

The film which was slated to be released on January 25, clashing with the release date of Thackeray, will now release on January 18.

Producer Bhushan Kumar and the lead actor of Cheat India Emraan Hashmi came together to make the announcement in the presence of the producer of Thackeray, Sanjay Raut.

Other producers of Cheat India ? Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar ? were also present.

January 25 seems to be a very special day for filmmakers in Bollywood, with four controversial movies including The Accidental Prime Minister, URI, and Thackeray.

Another big-budget film Manikarnika starring Kangana Ranaut is also scheduled for release on the same day.

Thackeray is a biopic on the Indian politician Bal Thackeray. He was the founder of political party, the Shiv Sena.

Aditya Thackeray, the grandson of Bal Thackeray, was present on the occasion. To a question if the Shiv Sena created any pressure to change the release date, Bhushan Kumar said, “We did not shift the release date under any pressure or ego but for a pure business reason. It was our way to pay respect to Balasaheb Thackeray.”

Aditya said, “Also, we would not have sat together on the same stage if we faced any pressure.”
