COVID Cases: Maharashtra leads the board followed by Karnataka

The new case tally of Covid-19  in Maharashtra on Thursday stood at 24,619 while the state reported 398 deaths. This led to the death toll rise to 31,351 in the state. On the other hand, 19,522 patients were discharged after treatment. The number of recoveries in the state increased to 8,12,354 while 3,01,752 active cases remain.

if we look at Andhra Pradesh, 8,702 of new cases were reported by the authorities. The total tally touched 6,01,462 Corona cases on Thursday with 10,712 patients recoveries in last 24 hours. The recovery rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh has improved in comparison to the national average (78.64 percent) at 84.48 percent. It took 190 days for Andhra Pradesh to reach from the first case to six lakh cases of COVID infections. However, the biggest jump was seen in the last 20 days when two lakh cases were reported in the state.

Karnataka, on the other hand, reported 9,366 new cases and 93 death due to Covid19 on Thursday. It should be added that there is an issue of data logjam due to the doctor’s strike. 15 districts of the state reported zero discharges while seven districts reported new cases in double digits.

Tamil Nadu tally stood at 5,25,420 with 5,560 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Chennai alone reported 992 cases in a single day while Coimbatore closely followed with 530 cases, 291 cases were reported from Salem, 283 in Chengalpet and 239 in Thiruvallur. The other 18 districts reported cases less than 1000.  The death toll reached 8,618 with 59 death on Thursday. Recoveries have increased to 4,70,192 as 5,524 people were discharged.
