In an apparent show of strength, Congress General Secretary and in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold a roadshow in the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening.
A day after holding roadshows in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain and Pathankot in Punjab, Priyanka Gandhi is campaigning for Congress candidate, Ajay Rai in the Modi Bastion.
The roadshow is on the same route as the one taken by the PM for his roadshow earlier this month. The roadshow will begin at Pt Madan Mohan Malviya’s statue in Lanka and terminate near The Kashi Vishwanath temple.
She is also expected to visit both, the Kashi Vishwanath and Kal Bhairav temples.
Priyanka Gandhi holds her roadshow just ahead of the last of the 11 joint rallies of Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav and Ajit Singh in Varanasi on May 16. With three days left for polling, Priyanka Gandhi, is visiting Varanasi post the decision of the party to field Ajay Rai from this seat.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday released a video message for his voters in Varanasi. Recalling his last visit to the constituency, Modi appealed for a huge voter turnout breaking all previous records. The timing couldn’t have been better as Priyanka Gandhi holds a roadshow in the town.
