The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday said that over 1 million people joined the party within 24 hours of their “massive” win. After winning a staggering 62 seats in the Delhi assembly elections, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party is all set to form the government. This has led to umpteen people showing their support for the party by enrolling as a member.
AAP tweeted on Thursday, “More than 1 million people have joined AAP within 24 hours of our massive victory.”

This can be attributed to the nation-building campaign (Rashtra Nirman) launched by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Under the campaign, Indians are being invited to join the AAP to give their contribution to developing the country.
The AAP came to power in 2015 and erased congress from the Delhi Assembly. In 2020, the capital still stands ‘Congress-free’ as Kejriwal’s party gears up for AAP 3.0. AAP’s victory also came as a shocker for PM Modi and Amit Shah led BJP as it bagged only 8 seats in the Delhi Assembly.
The AAP got a vote share of 53.57%, while BJP received 38.51% votes. Congress party, which could not open its account in Delhi got a 4.26% vote share.
