This is part two of the great Indian obsession of securing the best for their children at all times. Angrezi medium is just that with a sweet twist.
It all began with Hindi Medium A middle-class Indian family who wanted to get their child into an English medium school hook or by crook Angrezi medium is a progression of that same sentiment in action.
In Angrezi Medium a doting single father Champak Bansal by name played by Irrfan will cross the seven seas if need be and there is a need to send his darling daughter Tarika, Radhika Madan in the film to London because he wants the best for her at all times and no sacrifice to that end is too great.
This is the typical Bollywood Family movie an n emotional father-daughter story that tugs at your heartstrings at times when its not making you smile or laugh and that makes a great watch …’Issme action hai emotion hai hansee hai !! Just like this sentence at times the movie gets a bit melodramatic but nothing you can’t handle.
IN to the acting Irrfan, who, was very ill during the shooting of the film and is making a comeback of sorts here is brilliant and looks to be taking a walk in the park with this role, stellar
And resolutely by his side is Deepak Dobriyal who plays Irrfan’s younger brother and not to forget young Radhika Madan who has put in a very wholesome performance.
The trio has great chemistry and timing and together lift the film to the next level. Oh yes, and there is Kareena too who to brings a sweet twist to this father-daughter bond.
It is interesting to watch how Homi juggles with the single parent theme here and in the end after you have emotionally invested here you come out smiling
Middle-class drama is the flavour of the season and Homi Adajania has got this one down just right thanks to some great writing and smooth acts.
Id give the Angrezi Medium movie review a star rating of 3/5 three out of five stars
