Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya recently made his debut on a popular talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’ and the cricketer embroiled himself in a huge controversy after his sexist comments on the show.
When KJo asked the duo about how they decide who gets the girl if both hit on the same one? KL Rahul said, “Upto the woman”; Pandya, however, went on to say, “Nahi nahi aisa kuch nahi hai, talent pe hota hai. Jisko mila woh leke jao. [Nothing of the sort. It is on talent. Whoever gets, goes away with the girl]”
The Twitterati lashed out on the cricketer for his comments. “#KoffeeWithCricketers Pandya came across as the Kim K of cricket world? Boasting of ‘conquests’ and possessions like a Desperado? The line of his family asking him how many women and him pointing out to them like a trophy is so sick ? Grow up Pandya !,” wrote a Twitter user.
Someone please tell Hardik Pandya that what he thinks is a ‘cool-idgaf-badboy’ image comes out as nothing but creepy and gross.

A thread on all the creepy, misogynist, racist, and problematic things Hardik Pandya said on Koffee With Karan:
1) KJo: Why don’t you ask women’s names at nightclubs?
HP: I like to watch and observe how they move. I’m little from the Black side so I need to see how they move.

Watching @koffeewithkaran, a show so entertaining and a mass favourite was a huge disappointment today. Mr Cool objectifying women around him seemed like a coffee affair passed away in few giggles. Sadly, He represents our National Team.#HardikPandya #koffeewithkaran

The BCCI has taken cognizance of the matter and has issued show cause notices to both the cricketers. “We have sent show cause notices to Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul for their comments. They have been given 24 hours to give an explanation,” Chairman of the Committee of Administrators that runs the BCCI, Vinod Rai, told PTI.
After Former BCCI general manager Ratnakar Shetty called Pandya’s conduct a “disgrace to the cricket community”, Hardik Pandya apologized for what many on social media construed as misogynist and sexist comments on TV show Koffee with Karan. In his brief apology posted on his Twitter account, Pandya said he “got carried away with the nature of the show” while not meaning to “disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments”.
In the tweet, Pandya said, “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologize to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in a way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect.”
Shetty tweeted, “It is time the BCCI decides to take corrective steps for cricketers who talk rubbish on public platforms. Hardik Pandya was a disgrace to the cricket community the way he spoke on Koffeewith Karan show. He has insulted the women and also made a racist remark.”
