Eid and Salman Khan is a super hit combination and Bharat has just proven this again.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Bharat has received a massive opening at the box office on Eid and what else can be a bigger Eidi for all Salman fans than a super hit film.

Bharat released on Eid (5 June), and it made a whooping Rs 42.30 crore on Day 1 itself. According to trade analysts, Bharat attracted audience to theatres despite India’s debut World Cup match this year against South Africa in Southampton yesterday. 

It is the highest opening day grosser for Salman Khan as compared to his earlier releases Tiger Zinda Hai collected 34.10crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected 27.25crore, Tubelight collected 21.15crore.

A remake of ‘An Ode to My Father’, Bharat also features Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in key roles.

Bharat is Salman’s biggest Eid opener till date, surpassing Sultan’s first day earnings which made Rs 36.54 crore on day one. After Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bharat is Salman’s biggest opener so far in India.

Released in 4700 screens across India, Bharat has managed to get a huge opening breaking all records of his earlier films box office collection.

Salman Khan took to the micro blogging site to thank the audience for giving so much love to his film. He wrote ‘’big thk u sabko fr giving sabse bada opening mere career ka par what made me the happiest & proudest is ki during a scene in my film jab national anthem is recited ev1 stood up as a mark of respect. There could be no bigger respect for our country than this… Jai Hind’’


Not just among other Salman films, Bharat is also one of the biggest entertainers of this year along side Gully Boy, Kesari and Kalank.


Salman khan has also teamed up with with Sanjay Leela Bhansali  opposite Alia Bhatt for ‘Inshallah’. Salman is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 20 years again post ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’
