The stunning Deepika Padukone becomes the first Bollywood actor to officially join Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall 2020 campaign.
The actress surprised her fans by putting out her picture posing for the brand on the social media platform, Instagram, on Thursday morning. She features in ‘Don’t Turn Around’, a fiction thriller by Michelle Gagnon.
All dressed in a grey overcoat, black and white checkered dress and quilted boots, Padukone looks stunning in the poster.
She also wrote her caption thanking, Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director women’s collections for the luxury brand, who chose her to be a part of the brand campaign.
Her caption read, “I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Louis Vuitton family! To be a part of Nicholas Ghesquière’s vision for the world’s most iconic brand is not only exciting but also very humbling! Presenting… #LVprefall20 BOOM!👊🏽 @louisvuitto@nicolasghesquiere #louisvuitton.”
The entry of a Bollywood actress in the world’s top luxury brand campaign is significant as it also projects India’s growing influence in the international arena.
Louis Vuitton has planned a unique campaign that will showcase 24 poster girls and boys to star in Louis Vuitton’s renditions of pulp horror movies and books. Deepika is one of the 24 poster girls and boys, joining known faces of Louis Vuitton like Sophie Turner, Léa Seydoux, Alicia Vikander, Chloë Grace Moretz and more in the campaign.
Nicolas Ghesquière has also been sharing other posters for the campaign.
Deepika was last seen in ‘Chhapaak’, directed by Meghna Gulzar, which was a biographical movie on acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film was not received well on box-office.
