So, we finally saw the Kalank trailer on March 12  and this star studded movie looks extraordinary with an ensemble of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapoor. After watching the trailer, we can say with no doubt that Kalank is the most awaited movie of this year.

But, since the trailer release, there have been people making many resemblances of the movie with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films that is because of the grand sets which are essence of his films.

Apart from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the trailer gives an eerie resemblance to a famous TV series- Game of Thrones. Yes, you can call us little obsessed with the series but there is an unusual GOT references in the Kalank teaser.

The music

The background music first starts with a haunting music and slowly gains pace which you can suddenly recognize if you remember the episode where Cersei blows up the Sept of Baelor with the wildfire. If you haven’t heard it yet, listen it now.

Debt dialogue

GOT fans are well aware of the fact that ‘A Lannister always pays his debts.’ Coming back to Kalank, the trailer starts off with Varun Dhawan’s throaty voice “Kuch rishtein karzon ki tarha hote hai. Unhe nibhana nahin, chukana padta hai.”

Now if you don’t relate these two dialogues then we don’t know what to say.

Madhuri Dixit as Red Woman

In Kalank, Madhuri Dixit is seen playing the ‘Begum’ of hearts. Well, we are sure many of you must have noticed a sly look of Madhuri in the movie. It seems that she has some hand in separating the two love birds- Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the movie. This probably reminds us of Red Woman in Game of the Thrones who with her evil intentions influence Stannis Baratheon  to kill his own daughter. In Kalank, we may encounter Madhuri being the same influencer to Sanjay Dutt.

Jon Snow and Aditya Roy Kapoor

Well, we are not saying Aditya Roy Kapoor is a bastard in the movie. But, there is scene in Kalank trailer which totally resembles to Game of Thrones- Battle of Bastards scene. While in Game of Thrones, Jon Snow is seen standing all alone against Ramsay’s army, the same is seen in the Kalank trailer. Aditya Roy Kapoor is seen marching with a sword  and ready to fight all alone.

The blacksmiths- Gendry and Zafar

If you missed it then you need to brush up your GOT knowledge a bit. Remember, Gendry the unacknowledged baster of Robert Baratheon who worked as a blacksmith in King’s Landing? This reminds us of Varun Dhawan who is seen hammering metal in a dingy place.

Fighting pits

Varun Dhawan is seen fighting out in a combat arena with an audience cheering for him. This scene gives us a surety that he is a slave who is fighting just for entertaining the spectators. In Game of Thrones,  this kind of entertainment is seen in the fighting pits of Meeren where slaves were made to fight till they die for others’ entertainment.

The water gardens

Dorne in Game of Thrones is one of the beautiful places with lush green gardens that are just mesmerizing. When we see Alia Bhatt floating across the water stream, we can only picture Dorne.

The April release

Finally, the last one! Guess when are both releasing? April 2019. The final season of Games Of Thrones, season 8, that is, will release on 14 April — while Kalank releases on 19 April.
