After years of holding the record for highest-grossing film in history with Titanic, and then beating that record of Avatar, Hollywood famous Director James Cameron on late Wednesday tweeted his delight to Marvel and producer Kevin Feige on Avengers: Endgame’s success. The MCU’s series-ender overtook Titanic and became the fastest film to hit the $2 billion dollar mark worldwide.
James Cameron tipped his hat to the franchise in a Twitter statement addressed “to Kevin and everybody at Marvel,” Cameron applauded the team on behalf of his production company, Lightstorm Entertainment.
“An iceberg sank the real Titanic. It took the Avengers to sink my Titanic.Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes your amazing achievement. You’ve shown that the movie industry is not only alive and well, it’s bigger than ever!” his statement read.

Last Sunday, Endgame sailed past Titanic as the No. 2 movie both worldwide and overseas. The movie also became the fifth film ever to cross $2 billion globally on Saturday joining Cameron’s Avatar and Titanic, as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Infinity War.
Cameron’s Avatar still leads the pack as the No. 1 film of all time worldwide and internationally which sits on the position with $2.788 billion worldwide and $2.08 billion overseas.
Well, not to forget, Cameron’s Avatar has upcoming sequels, which will arrive in theaters every other year starting in 2021.
The tradition to congratulate each other is not new as it began back in 1977 when Steven Spielberg congratulated George Lucas after Star Wars overtook Jaws at the domestic box office
