Finally! This year’s stunner is here! Karan Johar unravelled the first look poster of Kalank featuring Varun Dhawan as ‘Zafar’. His look will leave you intrigued with those deadly kohl eyes that are fearless.

Varun Dhawan also changed his name on his official twitter handle to ‘Varun ZAFAR Dhawan.’

Producer Karan Johar shared the first look of Zafar and him as someone who ‘flirts with life and danger’. While co-star Alia Bhatt described Zafar as   ‘Fearless in love, Fearless for love.”

After Zafar, it was time for ‘Dev Chaudhary’. Yes, you heard that right! Karan Johar also unveiled the look of Aditya Roy Kapoor in Kalank. He will be seen playing Dev Chaudhary’ who is ‘a virtuous heart with an uncorrupted mind.’

Varun Dhawan also took to the twitter to reveal his look in Kalang and described how difficult it was to portray such an intense character. He tweeted, “It’s been a hell of a journey playing this gem of a character. So guys, meet Zafar!”

To keep fans in a surprise loophole, Karan Johar will unravel each character of their epic journey from today. This was previously seen with ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ where the producer and actors unveiled each character on different day, following the trailer release.

From the cast of Kalank, Varun Dhawan’s role is the first to be introduced on social media.

Yesterday, Karan shared the idea behind the making of Kalank, and wrote that it is the last film his father Yash Johar worked on before he died in 2004. “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago… A film I passionately believe in… The last film my father worked on before he left us… It was his dream to see this film come through… I couldn’t fulfil his dream then… My spirit was broken… But today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid… The story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice,” read an excerpt from his post, to which Karan Johar. He also added a still from Kalank.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is a period drama set in the 1940s’. It also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles.

Kalank is all set to release on April 19, 2019.
