Earlier there were reports that Bollywood’s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit will be contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
It was being said that actress was on party’s shortlist to contest from Pune.
However, her spokesperson has denied all such reports of her joining the saffron party.
While interacting with the media he said, “This news is false and speculative”.
A senior state BJP leader had earlier said that the actress’ name had been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.
“The party is seriously considering giving candidature to Madhuri Dixit in the 2019 general elections. We think the Pune Lok Sabha constituency will be better for her,” the leader added.
Madhuri Dixit made a debut on the silver screen with 1984 film “Abodh. She is known for her roles in movies like “Tezaab”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Dil”, “Beta”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”. She also starred in “Gulaabi Gang”.
