On the confirmation, Mrunal said, she is super excited to play the lead opposite Shahid.
It was confirmed in October that after the success of ‘Kabir Singh’, Shahid bagged the role of yet another blockbuster Telugu hit, ‘Jersey’.
Shahid will play the role of a cricketer in ‘Jersey’ as the actor was spotted sporting a different look than his previous projects and has also been practising his batting skills on a cricket field.
‘Jersey’ is a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the name. It will be directed by the same director who directed the original film, Gowtam Tinnanuri.
As per the script of the Telugu hit, Mrunal’s character will be important for the growth of Shahid’s character. She will be his support system as he will go through an emotional journey against all odds to play cricket for the county.
‘Jersey’ is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju and is expected to release on August 2020.
