The most anticipated movie of the year ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ trailer is finally here. Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh revolves around the life of the politician-economist Manmohan Singh who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.

Anupam shared the trailer on his twitter handle, “Ladies and Gentlemen!! Presenting the trailer of our highly anticipated film #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister.”

Yesterday, Anupam Kher made the big announcement on his social media handle that the film trailer will be out on Thursday with a video message impersonating his character.

Known for his milestone acting career in the Bollywood, Kher has transformed himself into looking like Manmohan by adapting his mannerisms quite well.

Anupam Kher said at the trailer launch: “The biggest challenge for me was the voice. It is the most difficult role I have ever done because everyone knows Manmohan Singh very well.” He added that he prepped very hard for the role, watched videos of the ex-PM for hours, and even meditated for the role.

While we can’t stop praising Kher for his power-packed performance in the film, Akshay Khanna as Sanjaya Baru, who was the media advisor of the former Prime Minister, is an immediate show stealer. Akshaye also seems to be the narrator of the film as we see him breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the viewers.

Anupam Kher also thanked Akshaye Khanna for being an amazing co-actor, “Dear #AkshayeKhanna!! Today being the release of our trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister I want to say that you have been an amazing & most giving co actor. Your brilliance rubbed on me and it helped me bring out my best. You are an inspiration. Thank you.”

The film is based on the controversial book of the same name which was released in 2014, written by Sanjaya Baru.

‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ will release on January 11.
