The makers of the movie ‘Chhapaak’ starring Deepika Padukone, will release the trailer on December 10. The day is also observed as ‘World Human Rights Day’. The movie directed by Meghna Gulzar deals with an acid attack victim.
Speaking to a leading newspaper, Meghna expressed her happiness about the date of the trailer launch. She said ‘ It is a nice coincidence that the trailer launch falls on the occasion of Human World Rights Days. As our movie deals with acid attacks, I could not have asked for a better launch date.
Chhapaak is inspired by the real-life incidents of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Aggarwal. Laxmi, a resident of Delhi became an acid attack victim at the age of 15. She attacked by a 32-year-old man whose proposal she rejected.
Deepika Padukone will essay the role of Malti in Chhapaak. The movie also stars actor Vikrant Massey.

Chhapaak is also the first production of Deepika Padukone. The movie releases on January 10, 2020
