Hollywood megastar Tom Hanks and his actress wife Rita have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the actor announced on Twitter this morning. The couple is in Australia at present shooting for an upcoming movie.
Tom Hanks said he and Rita Wilson, both 63, both had similar symptoms like fever, body aches and chills that were later tested as signs for being affected by Coronavirus. Following the necessary protocols, they will be isolated and monitored in Australia.
“We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” Tom Hanks wrote on Twitter and Instagram.

“What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?” the actor wrote.
While he wrote that he would be giving updates about his health condition, Tom Hanks also advised people to take care of themselves.
Australia, where Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were tested positive, has 136 confirmed cases of coronavirus and three deaths.
The coronavirus continues to spread around the world and is now declared as a pandemic by World Health Organisation (WHO). It has infected more than 126,000 people globally with 4,633 fatalities.
