The verdict is out the audience certainly doesn’t lap up a different script that breaks stereotypes, Sonam Kapoor starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga got off to a slow start at the weekend box office. Even with big names in the cast list like Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Rajkumar Rao the film did not make a big impression with the audience.
Ek Ladki grossed a total of just Rs 9.50 crore on the first three days of it releasing. Friday was not so great as it grossed just 3.30 crore. POSt good reviews it picked up and the weekend saw good numbers with 4.65 crores and 4 crores on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Meanwhile in a cinema hall next door Vicky Kaushal’s Uri The surgical strike still has a lot of audience Josh going for it. On the fourth Friday that marks the 23rd day of its release, the film grossed 6.35 crore the next day it made Rs 8.71 crore taking its 24-day total to Rs 189.53 crore. This makes it a monster hit at the box office.
Uri The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strikes which were carried out by the Indian army in 2016 in Pakistani territory. Uri features Vicky Kaushal in the lead, it also features Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari and debutante Mohit Raina. Uri has been directed by Aditya Dhar
Kangana Ranaut ‘s big’s Manikarnika-the Queen of Jhansi to is giving tough competition to ELKDTAL. The film grossed 6.75 crores on second Sunday raising the overall total to 76.65 crores.
The makers are hoping that Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga, which received good reviews from both the critics and the viewers alike a factor that just might help the movie pick up through the week.
