Union Health Ministry Sources confirmed on Tuesday that an Italian man has tested positive for coronavirus in Jaipur. This takes the coronavirus case count in India to 6.

Earlier, the tourist’s samples had tested negative, but his health deteriorated over time and a second sample was sent for testing. On Monday, the second sample of the Italian tourist diagnosed him with coronavirus.

“Since there was a variation in the reports, samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for testing,” some officials said on the condition of anonymity. They added that the second sample tested positive.

On Monday, two new cases of coronavirus had emerged in the country. A man who had traveled back from Doha to Telangana tested positive for the COVID-19. Another man who had flown back from Italy to Delhi is the second case of coronavirus that came up on Monday.

Considering the increasing number of Coronavirus cases, the government called for an emergency meeting of the group of ministers assigned to take care of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Union Health Ministry too released a fresh travel advisory for the citizens. Visas or eVisas issued to Italian, Iranian, South Korean, or Japanese nationals before the 3rd of March have been canceled by the government. The decision will be applicable only for those tourists who haven’t entered India yet.
