Heavy security personnel has been deployed in Delhi’s Jaffrabad area, where thousands of women are sitting on an anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), and anti-NRC (National Register of Citizens) protest.
The Jaffrabad metro line connecting to Selumpur to Maujpur and Yamuna Vihar has been blocked by over 800 protestors.
The women raising the Anti-CAA slogans and carrying the national flag said that they would not move from the site till the Centre revokes its decision.
The women protestors are also in solidarity with the Bhim Army Chief Chandrasekhar Azad who called for a nationwide strike, earlier this month said: “quotas and reservations for promotions for government jobs is not a fundamental right.”
Amidst the agitating protests, the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) has announced that the Jaffrabad Metro station’s entry and exit have been closed, and the train would not stop at the station.
The police are trying to negotiate with the women protestors who have blocked the road and continue to claim the revoking of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
