Located in Andhra Pradesh, the Guntakal Railway Station is the head of the Guntakal railway division. It is classified as an A-category station and was selected for the Adarsh Station Scheme by the Indian Railways. Under this scheme, the railway station was given a facelift.
Last year, Guntakal Railway Station was making headlines for installing six ‘Ulta Chaatas’ or ‘Inverted umbrellas’ in a move to conserve rainwater.
The beautiful infrastructure and innovative features of the Railway Station did not fail to catch the eye of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal too. Many other railway stations are also undergoing revamping under the Adarsh Station Scheme launched by the Indian Railways.
