The social media platforms- whatsapp, facebook and instagram that were facing technical glitches have been solved and services were restored after a wide spread outrage by the users on Thursday. Many users were not able to share any media on these platforms since Wednesday evening.
Facebook has on Thursday confirmed that after a rather lengthy outrage all services have been restored. Facebook posted on twitter read “Earlier today, some people and businesses experienced trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps and platforms. The issue has since been resolved and should be back at 100% for everyone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.”
The glitches were experienced globally including USA, Europe, Africa and also India. Following the global outrage facebook tweeted that it was aware of the issue and were working to fix it.
Facebook wrote “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos or other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
In India, the media was transferring in some cases but the users were unable to download any kind of media including audios, videos and images. But the apps had gone down completely on the other side of the globe in US and Europe.
At around 8.30 IST facebook, whatsapp and instagram had gone inactive for more than an hour leaving the users puzzled.
