The Delhi University released its full list of second cut-off for undergraduate courses on July 4th, with most of the north campus colleges closing down the admission for Political Science for the general category.
Several colleges affiliated to DU started releasing individual cut-off lists on July 3 by the evening. Hindu College, which had announced the highest cut-off in the first list at 99 per cent for Political Science (Honours), closed down the admission for every category except the Economically Weaker Section for the same course.
It closed admissions in English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, Sanskrit and Sociology for the unreserved category for arts and commerce courses.
While Lady Shri Ram College for Women also closed down its admission process for all courses except B.A. (H) English and B.Sc. (H) Mathematics for the unreserved category.
Shri Ram College of Commerce, the top choice for Commerce students, brought down the cut-off by 0.75 to 3 per cent for various categories for B.Com (Honours).
Another big shot college in the north campus, Ramjas College closed admission for B.A. (H) Political Science in almost all categories.
Meanwhile, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, a prominent college in the south campus also closed down the admission process for B.A. (H) Political Science, B.A. (H) Economics, B.A. (H) Geography, B.Com and B.Sc. (H) Mathematics for almost all categories.
All the admission process for the second cut-off will be held from July 4 to July 6.
According to a media report, over 27,000 students had taken admission in the first cut off list as against 5,500 last year.
Last year, 25 per cent seats were filled during the admission days based on the first cut-off, the second cut-off saw a marginal fall, another report said.
As of now, the third, fourth and fifth cut-off lists would be released on 9 July, 15 July and 20 July respectively, according to the availability of seats in different courses.
