After sweeping the elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting his parliamentary constituency Varanasi in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Prime Minister elect Narendra Modi offered prayers at the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in the temple town on the banks of river Ganga. Narendra Modi was accompanied by BJP President Amit shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Visiting his constituency for the first time after winning the elections, PM Modi thanked the electorate for reposing faith in his leadership and for giving him a huge mandate. Narendra Modi won the Varanasi seat with a huge margin of 4.79 lakh votes which is more than the mandate he received in 2014.

With three days left to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for a second term, Narendra Modi performs puja in the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The puja and rituals performed in the temple were live streamed on a huge LED screen installed at the entrance.

The chief priest Acharya Ashok Dwivedi told ANI “It is our fortune that Prime Minister will perform puja with all rituals like he did in 2014 Lok Sabha and state elections. He is the biggest devotee of Vishwanath baba. Even before the rituals start, he devotes himself to God; you can see tears of devotion in his eye.”

PM Modi will address the party workers later in the day. On Sunday, PM Modi met his 98 year old mother and sought her blessings.

PM Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister of India on May 30. BJP led NDA has won the Lok Sabha elections 2019 with a huge majority of 303 seats out of 542 LS seats routing Congress led UPA.

NDA on Saturday staked claim to form the government to serve the country for a second term and received a nod from the President.
