A 25-year-old student from Kerala was among the five Indians killed in the ghastly terror attack at New Zealand’s Christchurch mosque.

Ancy Ali, a resident of Kerala lived with her husband Abdul Nassar near the mosques that were attacked.

The couple hailed from Kodungalloor district in Kerala. Ali was doing her post-graduation.

“They migrated to New Zealand last year. While she was a student, her husband was working there. We received the news that a woman from here was injured in the shooting. We have now received the news that she died,” said a cop.

Condemning the attack, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Deeply shocked to learn that a Keralite is among the victims of Christchurch (New Zealand) terror attack. We are following up with the embassy through Norka Roots. Our thoughts are with the affected family.”

Hyderabad resident Farhaj Ahsan went missing after the attack. Ahsan’s father had earlier told ANI: “My son went to the mosque to offer Friday prayers. My son has not returned yet.” Ahsan was later confirmed dead by the authorities.
The Indian High Commission in New Zealand said that Immigration NZ has set up a dedicated page to expedite visa for family members of Christchurch victims.
