11 people lost their lives after the vehicle they were travelling skid off track and fell into the gorge in the district of Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir.
The passengers travelling in the vehicle were pilgrims on their way to the Machail Mata Temple. Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana said, “Eleven people have been killed and one injured in road a accident at Keward area of Padder. They were on their way to Kishtwar from Padder when the incident happened in the morning.”
SSP Rajinder kumar Gupta added that among the 11 killed in the incident, six were men and five were women.
A six year old girl is lone survivor of the incident. She was immediately admitted to the local hospital and is under treatment.
This is the second accident reported within 24 hours. Five people were killed and nine injured after a landslide on a hilly road. The incident took place on Monday, when boulders and rocks rolled down the hill trapping a bus and a car.
