With 2019 General Elections knocking at the door, the contentious issue of Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir has once again come to the fore. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has hinted that the Supreme Court could deliver a verdict favourable for constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Keshav Prasad Maurya said for its construction in Ayodhya, the BJP-led central government can also opt for the legislative route if need be, by passing a law. The Supreme Court, earlier this year said that the case of Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid is sole matter of “land dispute” and will be treated in a normal way.
