In another horrifying incident in school, a student in Dehradun was murdered and buried in the school premises.
Vasu Yadav, a 12-year-old boy, was found dead in his boarding school. Initial probe revealed that the boy was killed inside the school and the school authorities hid the body to get away with murder.
Reportedly, there was a delay in admitting the boy to the hospital as well.
The boy was beaten up with cricket bats and wickets by his seniors both class XII students of the same school. The two boys thrashed Yadav after a dispute over a packet of biscuits.
They allegedly tortured him and poured cold water on him. After cruelly beating him up, the boy was left to die in the classroom. He was found by the hostel warden.
Police said that while the boy was beaten up in the afternoon he was taken to the hospital late in the evening. The school authorities then buried the boy inside the campus after the doctors declared him brought dead.
Yadav’s father said that his son was thrashed mercilessly.
Usha Negi, the chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, whose intervention in the case led to the matter coming to light, said that all possible attempts seemed to have been done to cover up the incident. “The incident took place on March 10 and we were informed about it on March 11, following which we visited the school. However, when we got there, we found that the school administration had buried the body.”
She added that “they didn’t even bother to inform the parents, who live in Hapur, that their child had died,” as reported by the daily.
