In a tragic incident, a minor student from Delhi’s Inderpuri allegedly committed suicide when her mother was away at work.
According to police officials, a suicide note was recovered from her and she scribbled her teacher’s name on her hand and palms. She wrote that she didn’t not want to go to school anymore.
“On her palms and hands, she wrote that she did not want to go to school anymore. She apologized to her mother and grandmother and said she was going to meet Lord Krishna,” said senior police officer Madhup Tiwari.
Daisy Rathore, who was 12-year old, was found hanging from the ceiling on December 1.
Her mother, Kamal Rathore is an advocate at Tis Hazari Court. When Kamal returned at 4 pm from the court, she found her daughter’s body hanging.
“My daughter complained that the teacher rebuked her every day. The same teacher rebuked and humiliated her on Friday for 10 minutes in the biology lab. She cried in the school bathroom after the episode,” said Ms. Rathore.
“She had been insisting that I change her school but I did not know the extent of the crisis. I did not realise that she would commit suicide,” the mother said between sobs.
The school management in its statement said they are fully cooperating with the investigating authority and were also conducting an internal inquiry.
“As of now we are not at liberty to disclose any details which may jeopardize the police investigation of the case,” the statement said.
The police said that they are recording the statements of her classmates.
