A 27-year-old employee of Delhi Metro was found hanging from a hook in the ceiling in East Delhi’s Shahdara on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Shubhankar Chakraborty from North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

He was a staffer in the Electrical and Maintenance Department and had joined the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation in June, a media report suggests.

The man allegedly committed suicide without any suicide note and was found with a plastic wire around his neck.

The man streamed it live on Facebook where he was seen climbing atop a cooler, wearing Delhi Metro’s uniform.

During the live, he looked into the camera a couple of times and kissed his company identity card before hanging himself.

Few of his friends watched the live and immediately called the police for help, which reached the spot after a while.

According to reports, one of Shubhankar’s friends was informed by a friend who watched it live at around 8 am, who later reached his house but found the door locked from inside.

He peeped from the window and found him hanging and the police took the body for further investigation.

Police later said that he is survived by his sister and wife, who live in West Bengal. He had a fight with his father who visited him two days ago but it is yet not clear whether he committed suicide due to the fight

His body was shifted to Subzi Mandi mortuary, police said.
