Two head constables with Faridabad police and three special police officers (SPOs) sacked after their video of hitting a woman with a belt goes viral on social media on Monday.
According to the police, the incident took place in October last year but at that time it was not reported to the police by the victim. It took place at a park that falls under the jurisdiction of the Adarsh Nagar police station, where all five accused were deployed at the time.

An FIR was lodged under various provisions of IPC pertaining to wrongful confinement, voluntarily causing hurt and word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman. The FIR was lodged in Faridabad against the accused cops.
“Adarsh Nagar police received information that a man and a woman were doing something wrong in the park. When police reached the spot, the man fled. The police personnel behaved indecently with the woman and hit her while questioning her. A video of this went viral today,” said Sube Singh, PRO of Faridabad Police
Sube Singh further said that Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, Sanjay Kumar ordered suspension of Head Constables Baldev and Rohit and dismissal of three SPOs Krishan, Harpal and Dinesh.
The video of the alleged incident went viral in the last couple of days after which police got details of the incident verified.
The State Women Commission took strong view of the incident and brought the matter to the notice of Haryana police.
The spokesman police was making efforts to trace the victim.
“After contact is established, her statement would be recorded for further investigation,” he said.
