Haryana Police on Saturday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Haryana Congress Spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary in Faridabad.
The Crime Branch of Faridabad police have arrested Roshni, a resident of Naharpur and Naresh alias Chand, a resident of Damdama near Sohna.
Naresh has been accused of providing arms to Roshni. Both were arrested from Gurugram.
Anil Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP), said that the shooters, who were deployed by the gangster to kill Chaudhary, are yet to be arrested.
“We have arrested two persons from Gurugram. Roshini is the wife of a gangster, named Kaushal. The other accused Naresh had been working as a servant at their place for the last 20 years. Kaushal, who is currently in Dubai, has a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head,” said Kumar.
Roshini and her domestic help were directed by Kaushal to commit the offence. The duo, on the instructions, had made weapons available to two shooters – Sachin and Vikas – for committing the offence, police said.
The car used in the murder of the Congress leader has also been recovered, said Kumar.
“The conspiracy to murder Chaudhary started 20 days ago. There was a dispute between Vikas Chaudhary and the gangster over money,” he added.
Meanwhile, Haryana DGP Manoj Yadava on Saturday constituted an SIT, headed by Sanjay Kumar, CP Faridabad, comprising of Narendra Bijarniya, SP Palwal, Anil Yadav, ACP Crime Faridabad and others to arrest the remaining accused in this case.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday reaffirmed that the investigation in the murder of slain Congress leader is being conducted fairly.
Khattar said, “The murder is unfortunate but we would also have to look at the person’s character. There were 13 FIRs registered against the murdered person and some of those cases are under Section 120 (B) and 307 of the IPC. It could also have been because of some personal enmity but we are still engaged in conducting the investigation fairly.”
“We have full faith on our police forces. We do not work like those governments which control every activity on a micro-level,” he added.
Vikas was shot dead by unknown assailants in Faridabad at around 9 am on Thursday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, he was attacked by four men in a Maruti Suzuki SX4 car when he came out of a Gym after his daily workout.
