Migrant, Bengal, Labourers, J&K, Kulgam, Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists, terror attackIn yet another incident of blatant power-play, five migrant labourers were killed on Tuesday by an unidentified set of terrorists in Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. Also, another non-Kashmiri labourer was left critically injured in the incident.

According to the reports from the local police, the six labourers belong to Murshidabad district in West Bengal. Out of the five shot dead, three have been identified as Sheikh Murnsulin, Sheikh Kamrudin, and Sheikh Mohammed Rafiq. Meanwhile, the injured Zahooruddin has been shifted to the Anantnag district hospital, the police added.

Coincidentally, the attack was executed on a day when a delegation of twenty-three European Union MPs were visiting the capital city of Srinagar.

After the incident, the security forces have cordoned off the area of attack and the search operations are underway, reported a CRPF officer. Troops of 18 Battalion Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have been deployed to the spot as well, he added.

Apart from the latest terror attack, the day witnessed another incident in a school in Pulwama district. Earlier in the day, at around 3:15 pm, a group of unidentified militants fired half a dozen of shots at the CRPF deployment in the school. The school is an examination centre in the district.

However, no casualties have been reported in the particular incident. The area has been cordoned off and search operations are underway as well.
