Monsoon finally arrived in Delhi on Friday after weeks of unrelenting heat and humidity.
“After a delay of a week, the southwest monsoon has finally made an arrival over Delhi”, tweeted Skymet, a private weather forecast company.
On July 5, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded to be 34.2 degree Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Delhi-NCR on Friday and Saturday, IMD had stated.
The rains had been delayed a few days due to geographic factors including Cyclone Vayu.
Some regions of Punjab and Haryana are also likely to receive rainfall, predicted the Met Department.
“Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Rajasthan, remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir and some more parts of Punjab, Haryana and entire Delhi,” the weather department said.
