Netaji Subhas Bose birth anniversaryOn the occasion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 123rd birth anniversary today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on the microblogging site Twitter paying tribute to the revolutionary leader.

PM Modi wrote, “India will always remain grateful to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose for his bravery and indelible contribution to resisting colonialism. He stood up for the progress and well-being of his fellow Indians.”

He also posted a video where his voice-over says about the contribution of the freedom fighter and leader Bose.  He mentions, “Dilli Chalo”, “Give me blood and I will give you freedom”—the revolutionary slogans coined by Netaji, as well.  The one minute and fifty-five seconder video reflect upon all major contributions and sacrifices made by the leader.

Every year Netaji’s birth anniversary, January 23, is celebrated nationwide to commemorate his contributions to India’s Independence struggle.
