A Supreme Court Advocate Kuljeet Kaur (60) was found dead at her residence in sector 31 Noida. The deceased was found dead with a piece of cloth wrapped around her mouth which raised suspicion that it was a murder.
Kuljeet was a Supreme Court advocate and was living alone at her residence at sector -31 from where the body was recovered on Tuesday night.
The police said that the woman had hired a married couple as domestic helps a week ago but the duo have been absconding. A Honda city car which belonged to Kuljeet Kaur was found to be missing.
Kuljeet Kaur was married to Navjot Singh who was a retired army officer and was fighting a property dispute case in Supreme Court against her own family.
A case has been registered and the investigation is underway. Supreme Court Bar Association wrote to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemning the murder of Kuljeet Kaur seeking appropriate measures to protect the lives and properties of Advocates in the State.
The letter cites serious ruptures in law and order situation in the state. It reads “It is less than a month since Ms. Darvesh Yadav, First Woman Chairman, Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh was murdered in the Bar Association of Agra. It is high time that the state of UP should take serious and drastic measures to control the deteriorating law and order situation.”
This is the second such murder in less than a month. Earlier Darvesh Singh Yadav, the first woman to president of UP Bar Council was murdered in June by another lawyer.
