A portion of the Delhi Metro’s blue line was disrupted as on Monday morning after a woman killed herself on the Delhi Metro line. The woman jumped in front of a moving train at Jhandewalan metro station in Central Delhi.
On account of the incident the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took to twitter to announce that the trains between Indraprastha and Kirti Nagar were delayed briefly.
DMRC said “Blue Line Update, Delay in services between Indraprastha and Kirti Nagar due to a passenger on track at Jhandewalan. Normal service on all other lines.”
DMRC again tweeted confirming that the normal services on all lines have resumed following the delay
Eyewitnesses told the woman who jumped in front of the train was in her 40s and was shifted to Lady Harding Medical College. Police are investigating the identity of the victim.

The Authorities of Delhi Metro has taken measures in the past to prevent such untoward incidents. They even arranged for guard rails to prevent people from jumping in front of the moving trains.
The Delhi Metro guards were also alerted to look for people moving suspiciously in the stations and prevent them from coming close to the moving trains.
