Ajit Pawar on Tuesday night visited the ‘Silver Oak’ residence of his uncle and party chief Sharad Pawar in South Mumbai. He visited hours after resigning from the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

After the midnight twist in the politics of Maharashtra, where Ajit Pawar joined hands with BJP and was sworn in as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar termed his decision a personal one and not of NCP. This happened a day after NCP, Sena and Congress decided to elect Uddhav Thackeray to be the next CM of Maharashtra.

Since then there have been questions raised on Ajit Pawar’s current position as NCP party leader but he was later sacked on Saturday.

However, various leaders hailed him after he resigned on Wednesday and said that if he decided to leave politics it would be an “extreme step”.

After his visit to the NCP Chief’s house, speculations further say that he visited Sharad Pawar following the persuasion by NCP leaders who demanded that he should return to the party.

Chhagan Bhujbal, NCP leader had hinted on his return as he made a statement where he urged other NCP leaders to bring Ajit Pawar back in the Party.

“Several people have worked hard for the NCP. I want to mention, Ajit Dada’s contribution is big in this regard. Mistakes happen. We need some key people to be around to strengthen this alliance,” Bhujbal said, adding that Jayant Patil and Praful Patel take the initiative to bring him back.
