A week after the deadly violence in the national capital, the man in a viral video who was seen firing shots at an unarmed police constable in the northeast district of Delhi, identified as Shahrukh, has been arrested by Delhi police.
33-year-old Shahrukh was arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly and is now being brought to Delhi by Delhi Police Crime Branch today.
In a viral video on the social media platforms, shot on January 24, Shahrukh was seen with a gun aiming at an unarmed policeman and the crowd at the Jaffarabad-Maujpur road.
He fired shots at the crowd on the other side of the road after the Head Constable of Delhi Police identified as Deepak Dahiya, did not budge and forced him to back off.
Recently, a piece of fake news broke the internet which claimed that Shahrukh was arrested, however, Delhi Police refuted the information and said that the Crime Branch is still conducting raids to find the accused.
The Delhi violence that began on January 24 in the northeast districts of Delhi killed more than 40 people and left hundreds injured. The areas most affected were, Maujpur, Bhajanpuri, Chand Bagh, Gokulpuri and Jaffarabad.
