Goa Chief Minister and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on Sunday, March 17 after battling pancreatic cancer for more than over a year. He was 63.
Manohar Parrikar’s health had worsened on Saturday and there were hectic political parleys across parties in Goa.
As per initial reports, a prayer meet for the late Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will be held in the Union Cabinet at 11 am on Monday.
President Ram Nath Kovind first shared the news of Manohar Parrikar’s passing away on Twiitter.

A while ago around 7 pm, the official Twitter handle of Goa CMO posted that Parrikar’s condition was extremely critical.

Condolences and prayers have started pouring in for the late Manohar Parrikar.

Owing to the severity of his ailment, Parrikar had been admitted to several hospitals across India and even in the US in the last one year.
He was admitted in AIIMS for about a month in September-October 2018. Despite his ailment, Parrikar steered the govt for 5 months in Goa and also presented the state budget in Goa with a tube in his nose.
