A Lucknow local court on Tuesday sent three accused in Kamlesh Tiwari murder case to police custody for four days.
The Uttar Pradesh police presented accused Maulana Mohsin Sheikh, Faizan and Rashid Ahmed Pathan before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Lucknow.
Meanwhile, Kusum Tiwari, mother of Kamlesh Tiwari, demanded death penalty for all the accused persons who have been arrested.
Uttar Pradesh Police had taken the transit remand of these accused after they were arrested in Surat, Gujarat.
Earlier on Tuesday, two main accused in the case – Ashfaq Hussain Jakirhussain Shaikh (34) and Moinuddin Khurshid Pathan (27) were arrested by Gujarat AntiTerrorism Squad (ATS) from the Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
Director-General of Police (DGP) of the state, OP Singh on Monday said that the investigation in the case is going in the right direction.
“Our teams were looking for them based on the evidence against them. All police teams including Gujarat Police, Maharashtra Police, and Uttar Pradesh police coordinated with each other. Our investigation is in the right direction and there are good chances of conviction. We will take them into transit remand and will bring them to Lucknow as soon as possible,” he added.
On October 18, Kamlesh Tiwari was shot at the Naka area of Lucknow and succumbed to his injuries.
