The BJP wing of Kerala in a core meeting today decided to join the ongoing protest against the Supreme Court verdict that permitted the entry of women in the Sabarimala temple.
The Sabarimala Samrakshana Yatra will begin on October 10 from Pandalam. The march will end on October 15 in the state capital at the secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram.
“The Government is trying to implement the Supreme Court order by suppressing the Hindu faith and sentiments of the faithful,” the BJP state chief said. He said the NDA’s ‘Save Sabarimala Yatra’ will be an agitation based on Gandhian principles.
BJP State president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai will lead a long march planned by BJP. The Other constituencies of the National Democratic Alliance(NDA) are also expected to join the march.
The party’s northern units in the State will also hold protests in their respective areas.
The Supreme Court on September 6 passed a judgment which lifted the ban on entry of women in the Sabarimala Temple.
