Punjab Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu reached Pakistan on Tuesday for the ground breaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor which will connect the Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur to Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.
It is to be noted that Sidhu chose to skip the ceremony on the Indian side saying that he was not into any credit war.
As per the media reports, the politician gave the full credit to open the Kartapur corridor goes to his “friend” and Pakistan PM, Imran Khan.
Sidhu added that no one from the centre had any objections over his visit and that Congress will not have to face any criticism over his visit. This was with reference to his hug to Pakistan Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa on his last visit to the neighbouring country.
The foundation ceremony on the Pakistani side is scheduled for Wednesday.
The corridor aims to aid the movement of pilgrims to and from the Kartarpur Sahib where Guru Nanak had spent 18 years of his life.
