Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi meets two relatives of the Sonbhadra victims at the Chunar guest house on Saturday morning. She alleged that 15 others were not allowed to meet her and neither was she allowed to meet them.

“The Congress leader told “Two relatives of the victims have come to meet me, 15 others are not being allowed to meet me. Even I am not being allowed to meet them.”

Earlier in the day Trinamool Congress delegation led by Derek O’Brien arrived in Uttar Pradesh to meet the families of Sonbhadra victims but were detained in Varanasi Airport.

TMC leader Derek O’Brien claimed to have told the authorities that section 144 prohibits assembly of 4 persons but they were only three of them.

Speaking to news agency ANI he said “ADM and SP have told us we’ve been detained. We’ve told them we can’t be, section 144 prohibits assembly of 4 persons as only three of us are here.”

“We intend to proceed to BHU Trauma Centre to meet the injured and then go to Sonbhadra” he added.

The Trinamool Congress leaders also sit on ‘dharna’ at the Varanasi airport where they have been detained on their way to meet the victims of Sonbhadra incident.

Meanwhile responding on the Sonbhadra incident where 10 Gond tribesmen were shot dead, Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said the incident was unfortunate.

“As per the information I received, state government is taking action. I think state government will conduct unbiased investigation and culprits will be punished,” added the Tribal Affairs Minister.

However, Priyanka Gandhi along with her party workers continues to sit in dharna at the Chunar Guest house. “It has been 24 hours. I am not going to leave until and unless I am allowed to meet the victims of Sonbhadra firing case,” said the Congress leader as quoted by ANI.
