The ongoing trend to build the tallest structure has been taken to another level by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who has almost finalized a design that will make the Andhra Pradesh Assembly building taller than the Statue of Unity by 68 meters.
P Narayana, Minister for Municipal Administration, while addressing the media said, The three-floor assembly building will resemble an upside-down lily flower.
It is proposed to have a 250-meter tower, which will make it taller than Gujarat’s Statue of Unity. The tendering process would begin by November end and is expected to take two years before it gets finalized.
Norma Fosters, a UK based company, whose design was approved by The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister proposed a three-storey building for the state assembly.
The building is proposed to have two galleries and 80m and 250m with a capacity to accommodate 300 people and 20 people respectively.
Along with this Naidu also approved designs for 5 buildings of the secretariat.
He directed the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority officials to prepare drafts of the tender notifications.
