Ahead of assembly elections in Telangana, the Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat on Tuesday flagged off mobile vehicles that will give a demo about the working of EVMs and VVPATS to create awareness among the voters.

Election commission of India with the motto to “No Voter to be left behind” has declared the theme of this year’s election as ‘Accessible Election’ to encourage participation of persons with disabilities in the electoral process. In this regard, the ECI officials and differently abled icons of Telangana had an interaction.

Ramp, wheelchair with a volunteer, free transport facility, voter card and voter slip in Braille, instructional videos with sign language interpretation such as how to vote will be arranged for the differently-abled.

CEC O P Rawat along with 10 member Election Commission team arrived Hyderabad on Monday to take stock of poll preparations for the assembly elections which will be held on December 7 in Telangana.
