A day after a 26-year-old veterinarian Doctor Priyanka Reddy‘s burnt body was found on November 28 in Shamshabad near Hyderabad, police have found another woman dead in the same area under similar circumstances.
According to ANI Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanagar said “The body was found in an open area on the outskirts of Shamshabad. It is being moved to a government hospital for autopsy, and a case is being registered”.
Although the second woman was found dead only a few kilometers away from where the body of the veterinarian was retrieved. The police is unable to confirm if the two incidents are interconnected.
The first incident has spread tremors across the country. The Hyderabad government is rendering assurances that all was being done to catch those responsible behind the murder. Police suspect the woman has been assaulted before being murdered.
The veterinarian had gone missing on November 27 night, while she was heading home from work. Investigations have revealed that on her way back, she was stopped at the Shamshabad toll booth where she parked her bike and took a cab to visit a dermatologist.
She found her two-wheeler punctured when she returned around 9 PM.
Four people, all truck drivers, have been arrested in connection with the veterinarian’s murder. According to ANI, they have now been sent to judicial custody.
Telangana Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali instead of accepting the failure of law and order in the state has blamed the victim (Priyanka Reddy) for not calling 100 and instead of calling her sister for help.
