Senior Congress leader of Karnataka and former Minister DK Shivakumar’s 23 year old daughter Aisshwarya is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case.
After interrogating DK Shivakumar the Enforcement Directorate summoned his daughter Aisshwarya who lives in Bengaluru to New Delhi for investigation.
DK Shivakumar was a senior congress leader and a powerful politician who always rescued the Karnataka Congress party in times of crisis.
The ED had arrested him after four days of questioning in connection with the money laundering case, and told the court that he was uncooperative and evasive.
The ED set out to probe how the net worth of DK Shivakumar’s daughter Aisshwarya grew from 1 crore in 2013 to 100 crore in 2018.
The investigative agencies are probing if the monetary transactions between DK Shivakumar and daughter Aisshwarya were related to money laundering. It is known that the father daughter duo went to Singapore in 2017 and made some investments.
The Enforcement Directorate registered a money laundering case against DK Shivakumar for tax evasion and illegal transactions worth some crores of rupees.
DK Shiva Kumar took to twitter and expressed gratitude to all the leaders and supporters who stood by him in the times of crisis.
He wrote “I whole heartedly thank leaders, supporters, well-wishers and friends who have organized a massive protest in my support tomorrow in Bengaluru. I humbly request that the protest be peaceful and doesn’t cause any inconvenience to citizens. Please ensure public property isn’t harmed.”
Earlier DK Shivakumar tweeted that political vendetta has become stronger than the law in this country.
In 2017 DK Shivakumar sheltered Congress legislators of Gujarat at a resort in Bengaluru to prevent horse trading by the BJP during the then crucial Rajya Sabha elections. Soon after, Income tax officials raided DK Shivakumar’s properties.
