Hyderabad, cancer, district collector

Fulfilling her long-cherished dream, A Ramya, a seventeen-year-old girl battling blood cancer “took charge” as the Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Commissionerate in Hyderabad for a day on Tuesday.

Later that day, She was awarded with the guard of honour badge.

Ramya, hailing from Old Alwal, is a second year MPC Intermediate student at Chaitanya Collge Suchitra in Medchal District.

Earlier this year, the international non-profit organisation Make a Wish Foundation had approached Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, CP Rachakonda presenting Ramya’s wish before him.

Taking charge as the Commissioner of Police of Rachakonda, Ramya stated that she would like to control the law and order problems. The seventeen-year-old said that she expects to create a friendly police atmosphere in the limits of Rachakonda Commissionerate and that she will bring good name and reputation to the Commissionerate.

She also stated that she felt ecstatic being Commissioner of Police Rachakonda and wanted to prevent property offences and strengthen protection of women. She intends to do it by increasing the She Teams and patrolling parties.

This is the second instance of fulfilling wish by CP Rachakonda. In the year 2017, one small boy Ehsan’s wish to become Commissioner for a day was fulfilled.
