The body of a 26-year-old veterinarian, who went missing on November 27 night near Hyderabad, was found on November 28 morning, in a badly burnt state. The victim has been identified as Priyanka Reddy.
Priyanka was on her way from her house in Shadnagar to a veterinary hospital in Kolluru village where she worked.
She was stranded in Shamshabad after her two-wheeler reportedly suffered a puncture. Her body was found in Shadnagar, about 30 kilometres away, below an underbridge.
The victim had last spoken to her sister Bhavya at around 9:15 PM. The phone call audio intimated that someone had offered to get the flat tyre repaired.
Victim’s sister said she had advised her sister to go to the nearest toll gate and wait as Priyanka said she was afraid of many unknown men and loads of trucks parked in the area.
The sister added “I even asked her to come away leaving the vehicle. When I called after some time, her phone was switched off”.
The body of the woman was found to be badly burned and was identified by members of her family with the help of a locket she wore.
The police have set up 10 teams to track those who might have trapped Priyanka and killed her. Her vehicle has not yet been found, which could provide the police with important clues.
